Five Climate Zones to the Summit

Kilimanjaro is the only place on Earth where you trek through five distinct climate zones in a single ascent — from equatorial rainforest to Arctic glaciers in less than a week.

Cultivation800-1,800m
Rainforest1,800-2,800m
Moorland2,800-4,000m
Alpine Desert4,000-5,000m
Arctic Summit5,000-5,895m
01

Cultivation

Banana plantations and coffee farms surround the mountain's base, giving way to lush tropical vegetation as you approach the park gates.

02

Rainforest

Dense, moss-draped montane forest with blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, and over 180 bird species. The wettest zone — expect dappled light and earthy trails.

03

Moorland

Giant heather, lobelias, and otherworldly groundsels dominate this open landscape. Wide views emerge as the forest thins. Temperature drops noticeably.

04

Alpine Desert

Stark, barren terrain with little vegetation. Nights are cold, days are dry and bright. Acclimatization becomes critical in this zone.

05

Arctic Summit

Glaciers, scree, and thin air. Summit night temperatures can reach -20°C. The final push to Uhuru Peak rewards with sunrise views across Africa.

Why Choose Us

Why Climb with Authentic Kilimanjaro

01

KINAPA-Verified Local Guides

Every lead guide is KINAPA-certified, born in the Kilimanjaro region, and has 200+ personal summits across all six routes. They read weather shifts, recognise altitude sickness early, and speak your language.

02

Ethical Crew, Fair Wages

Porters carry a maximum of 20kg, earn above KINAPA-recommended wages, and receive proper meals, sleeping gear, and medical cover. When you climb with us, no one is being exploited to get you to the summit.

03

95%+ Summit Success Rate

On 8-day routes, our success rate exceeds 95% — compared to the industry average of 65%. The difference: conservative acclimatization schedules, twice-daily pulse oximetry checks, and guides who know when to slow down.

04

Transparent Pricing, Secure Payments

Every quote is fully itemized — park fees, crew costs, meals, equipment, transfers. $0 hidden fees. Payments processed through PesaPal and DPO Group with international card protection. Maximum 8 climbers per group.

Summit Stories

What Our Climbers Say

Our guide noticed my headache before I even mentioned it. He adjusted our pace, made sure I was hydrating properly, and got me to the summit safely the next morning. That level of attention is why I chose a local operator over a big international agency.

We were only 6 people in our group, which meant our guide team could really look after each of us individually. The 'climb high, sleep low' strategy on Machame made all the difference — we both summited without any serious altitude issues.

I chose the Northern Circuit specifically for the best acclimatization, and it delivered. The northern traverse felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. What really impressed me was seeing how well the porters were treated — proper gear, reasonable loads, good food.

I travelled in November and was advised to take the Rongai Route because it approaches from the drier side. Smart call — we barely had any rain. After the climb, the team arranged a 3-day Serengeti safari through the Inspiration Africa network. Seamless.

As first-timers, we were nervous about everything — fitness, altitude, choosing the right operator. The pre-climb briefing in Moshi put us at ease, the pricing was completely transparent with no surprises, and the PesaPal payment was smooth. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
